Well search hasn't changed much over the last 10 years. I think the only thing that has really advanced was advertising. Then again I don't see that as being a bad thing, the guys that own the engine have to pay their bills.
Now we have Viewzi which is a visual search portal. Not an engine in it's own right they simply combine results from the Big 4 of the search engine world (well I don't count AOL, so this agrees with my thoughts). Results are provided from Ask.com, Google, MSN and Yahoo!. Thankfully this does also give you the option of refining that a little further by removing up to 3 of those, basically leaving you with the engine of your choice as sole provider.
While I think this is a great idea I don't think that their application is quite there yet. It takes an age to bring up a thumbnail, even if there isn't one. It is also not entirely clear on how to search. With a whole load of options at the top, which one do you use?
Okay, so I hear a whole crowd shout, "But it's still in beta!" Yeah, that's why I'm pointing out these issues now!
If you are looking for a visual search I would still recommend: SearchMeNow if these two combined... the usability of SearchMe with the results from viewzi we are onto something great!

hi, if you are into visual search try face search it targets another niche (people search) and it utilizes Goolge in the backend.
